Terms of Service & Acceptable Use Policy
Last Updated: November 6, 2026
By accessing or using sling.chat (https://sling.chat), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please discontinue use of the service immediately.
1. Description of Service
sling.chat provides an ephemeral, real-time web messaging utility powered by an in-memory C++20 Ring Buffer and cryptographic Proof-of-Work spam prevention. Messages are stored strictly in volatile RAM and are automatically overwritten as new messages arrive.
2. Acceptable Use Policy
To keep sling.chat fast, safe, and available for everyone, you agree not to use the service to:
- Transmit any unlawful, threatening, defamatory, obscene, or illegal material under applicable local or international laws.
- Share personally identifiable information (doxxing), confidential credentials, or copyrighted material without authorization.
- Distribute malware, phishing links, or deceptive URLs.
- Attempt to bypass, flood, or overwhelm our SHA-256 Proof of Work anti-spam mechanism or WebSocket server infrastructure.
3. Ephemeral Nature & No Warranty of Persistence
Because sling.chat is intentionally designed as a volatile, zero-database system, we guarantee no message persistence. Messages may disappear at any moment due to Ring Buffer rotation or server maintenance. Do not use sling.chat to store important records without keeping your own copy.
4. Disclaimer of Liability
The service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind. Users are solely responsible for the messages they transmit during active WebSocket sessions. We reserve the right to clear in-memory channels, adjust Proof-of-Work difficulty, or block abusive IP addresses at our sole discretion.
